The Mission Statement of PROCLAIM HOPE!
To awaken throughout the Church
fresh hope, passion, prayer and mission
focused on the Lord Jesus Christ,
by proclaiming the full extent of His supremacy
and by empowering others to do the same.
Message from the Chairman of the Board of Directors
Thank you for your interest in the ministry of PROCLAIM HOPE! Years of experience assures me that God would greatly bless you and the cause of Christ through a visit from David Bryant, if this is God’s best timing for everyone concerned.
At the mandate of our Board of Directors, I want to alert you to guidelines we’ve developed on David’s behalf, related to the distinctives that would shape David’s ministry with you, and related to our financial expectations. We believe stating these guidelines up front will be helpful to both you and to us as further decisions are made.
The Message and the Mission
Although as founder of Concerts of Prayer International David is widely respected for his decades of leadership in the worldwide prayer movement, with the formation of PROCLAIM HOPE! God has taken him into what many call the “proclamation” era of his ministry. In fact, that’s how scores of Christian leaders saw the year PROCLAIM HOPE! was launched. See elsewhere on this website a special letter of endorsement from over 70 national Christian leaders.
David’s ministry has become primarily a message: Christ and the full extent of His supremacy. We believe it is the heart of what God wants for His people at this crossroads moment for our nation and our generation. Spreading this more comprehensive Christology is, we believe, the key to igniting and sustaining the nationwide Christ-awakening movement we believe is at hand.
In fact, David began to lobby for this powerful vision in the 1990’s through his trilogy on Christ-focused renewal: The Hope at Hand, Messengers of Hope and Stand in the Gap. His most recent book, CHRIST IS ALL! A Joyful Manifesto on the Supremacy of God’s Son, greatly expands on his core message.
Context, Recruiting, Leadership, Follow-up
This is why we at Proclaim Hope! carefully weigh every potential assignment, making sure that the“context” in which David is asked to minister actually supports and enhances the “content” of the message he brings. Our Board calls this the “principle of compatibility.”
In addition to “context”, as you’ll gather from the Ministry Event Questionnaire, we are deeply committed to identifying how host groups intend to tackle three other critical areas: First, how will they go about recruiting for the gathering to insure breadth of participation? Second, how will they pursue follow-up of the event to insure its maximum impact? Third, how will they insure significant participation of leaders, both clergy and laypeople, who in turn will nurture and serve the long-term results of the event?
As we study these four dimensions – context, recruiting, follow-up and leadership involvement – at times we often make recommendations to the conveners for helpful adjustments in their approaches, all of this based on David’s nearly 35 years of experience.
Next Step: The Questionnaire
The Board is eager to explore with you the possibilities inherent in your recent invitation to David.
The Ministry Event Questionnaire is the best starting place. It highlights the issues we like to investigate as we weigh opportunities. At the same time, the tool can help you respond creatively to some of the major criteria David uses in determining which assignments he ultimately should accept.
Let me assure you: Every answer is important and useful – both to you and to your committee, as well as to us. Frankly, I think actually you will enjoy filling it out!
So, next step: Please download and complete the Questionnaire. As soon as it is returned to our offices (by email, fax or postal service), it will receive immediate prayerful consideration. Then, David will contact you personally to discuss the opportunity further. You can expect to hear back from us within two or three weeks.
Whatever final decisions are made, please know how much the Board and I appreciate your consideration of ways David and PROCLAIM HOPE! might join you in your ministry setting. We look forward to your reply.
Sincerely in Christ,
Chairman, Board of Directors
P.S. Along with the Questionnaire, you may also want to take some time to review four other links on our website. They answer important questions frequently asked of us.
